The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Phillip Lucas can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: LtCol C. M. "Chuck" Herndon, USMC (Ret)
Condolence: To the Lucas family; you have lost a loved one, but God has gained another Marine to safe guard his gates until we all come home. Semper Fi! Phil was the epitome of the motto and a cherished brother in arms. My thoughts and prayers are with you and my hope is they will bring some comfort in your time of mourning.

Condolence From: James Washington
Condolence: “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5) I had the privilege to meet Phil when I was assigned to the 2d Marine Division in '81. I sought his counsel which he was always willing to share. If you knew Phil you know that he was very knowledgeable and competent, very easy going and always willing to help out a fellow Embark Officer. May God bless the Lucas family!

Condolence From: LtCol Jim Scruggs, USMC (Ret)
Condolence: Phil was always a calm, measured, and mature voice of reason; especially in stressful environments when the mission success and the safety of the force were critical. A trusted friend and comrade...deepest condolences to Shiela and the entire Lucas family from the entire Embark community! He will certainly be missed. Semper Fi Phil

Condolence: Sheila and Family - we are so sorry for your loss but thankful that Phil is with the Lord and has received the ultimate healing. As believers we have the assurance that "to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord". May you find comfort in this promise today and in the coming days.

Condolence: I'm sorry for the loss of your loved one. It is comforting to know that your loved one is alive in God's memory, God never loses sight of them. (Luke 20:38)

Also it is comforting to know of the time when God promises to end death forever. (Rev 21:4)
