Bye Mom. The talks we would have over the years, the lunches we would go to together, time spent will never replace you. But thank God I did have you for as long as I did. I’ll miss you. Time to see Dad, Terri, Grandma, and all those you loved dearly.
Although I did not know your mom personally buddy..Only meeting her for a short period in time. I’m sure of all the great memories that you have of your own to cherish as time passes. May God bless you and yours for the days ahead and comfort you in your time of need. Take care Brother… Much love and thoughts to you.
REST IN PEACE, YOU ARE HOME NOW.
Who was Adean Walker Wyatt some of you may ask. Let me see if I can help you to understand the real her.She was known as Mom to those who knew her and she was a faithful, devoted and loving wife to Pops her entire life. She was a kind hearted and very caring Mother to Terri and Buddy with just the right amount of discipline applied to them that made them the most awesome kids in the world. She was so proud of them. They brought her the most joy.She was Mitzie’s Mother-In-Law but refused to use the In-Law term when introducing her to others. She simply said this is my daughter Mitzie. She loved Mitzie just like she was one of her own as Mitzie lost her own Mother at a very young age. Mom took her under her wing and loved her and nurtured her and depended on her for most of her needs espically in her later years. But the most important part of their relationship was the fact that they were best friends and set a true example of what Mother & Daughter In-Laws should truly be. They were both blessed to have each other. To Brian she was the Worlds Greatest Grandmother. She spoiled him just a little and loved him deeper than the ocean and wider than the sky. Just the mention of his name brought a smile to her face. In his adult years he spoiled Grandma just as much with the latest gadgets and technology. She loved learning and being kept up to speed with the rest of the world.Mom always said if you lived a day without learning something, you wasted your day. That was what made her so special. She was always witty, intelligent and happy.Mom’s friends would say she was the most loyal, fun, trusting and loving friend you could have and the best secret keeper of all time. The Ladies of the Eastern Star would say Mom was a great woman with awesome leadership skills, an example for the younger members and a woman of integrity.WOW!! After reading all of that you get the picture but what you don’t know is who I am and what she was to me.My name is Christine and I was Mom & Pop’s neighbor. I was a young girl when I moved into their Acredale neighborhood back in the late 80’s. I had just married a man in the Navy and I had a young daughter. I didn’t know anyone. Not only did Mitzie and Buddy take us in, so did Mom & Pops. I will never forget the day when Mom ask me to be her chosen daughter. I was honored and privileged. She earned the name Momma Lucy and she call me Ethel. She always told folks I was her chosen daughter from Carolina and I couldn’t have been more proud. She too, took me and Valerie under her wing and loved us in the most amazing way. She taught me so much and loved me unconditionally. We had tons of fun together and did things I swore I would never tell. The Lady had a sense of humor that was beyond compare and a heart the size of the universe. My Momma Lucy was a unique one of a kind Southern Lady from head to toe. She was beautiful, loving, caring, honest, graceful, sweet, brave, courageous and most of all she always had room in her heart for one more. I will miss my Mommy with all of my heart and I don’t know who is going to keep me on the right track since she was also plain spoken and gentle with her correction and advice when I would get a little side ways. Heaven I am sure is rejoicing and Pops and Terri along with her other loved ones are glad to have her home, but her family will love and miss her greatly. Thanks to all of you who showed your love and support to Mom’s family during our time of need. May God bless you each and every day.I will see you again Mommy and I am saving hugs & kisses for you. Thanks for making my world and the world of others much brighter because you were in it.With all my heart,Your Chosen Daughter from Carolina
