Aileen Coggeshall, 75, of Norfolk, Virginia passed away in her home on February 28, 2022.
She walks in grace and beauty, my tall and slender friend.
White hair with a streak of color is her favorite thing to wear (for she is always on trend).
She adorns herself in finery, sometimes found on treasure hunts, searching crowded racks at thrift stores after meeting me for lunch.
You can always find a paperback sitting on the nightstand, and her bedroom window overlooks the bay of blue water, and miles of Ocean View sand.
Her feathered friend, a sweet Parrotlet, Toby is her little boy…on her shoulder he will perch to sing and bring her so much joy!
The glorious little garden she plants every spring is sprinkled with washed ashore driftwood, and shells from the sea.
A pair of weathered white rocking chairs wait within her reach, to relax and sip champagne and watch the colors in the sky weave a gorgeous tapestry.
Always kind, generous, humorous her company do we seek…she makes us laugh at memory loss, with how many spare keys she has to keep.
Steadfast and adventurous all friends will love her well;
Family is the cornerstone to which her heart belongs. – Debra and John

So very sorry for your loss, John & Debra. Aileen sounded like a beautiful person and that was a wonderfully written obituary.
John, I am so sorry for your loss.
So, so sorry to hear of Aileen’s passing. Our thoughts and condolences to the family and loved ones. Such a beautiful song published in her obituary in her memory. From Anina Adams, Craig T. Adams and Debra A. Burrell
My deepest sympathies to husband John. Also to her family and friends. I had the privilege to write the poem for Aileen several months before her passing. She truly was one of a kind …. and became my very best friend in the past six years. Her kindness and generosity and most of all love will be missed. We will meet again in a heavenly meadow and it will be as if no time has passed.
John, My sincere condolences on the loss of your wife, Aileen.
So very sorry to read of your wife’s passing, Mr. Coggeshall.
