
Albert (Al) Edward Robinson III, 67 passed away at home on August 11, 2016.
He was born June 20, 1949 in Queens NY to Albert Edward Robinson II and Mary Kearns Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Linda Warren Robinson, children Christopher and wife Nannette, daughter Jennifer Kemp and husband Kenny, and a son Matthew, grandchildren, Cody, CJ, Xander, Skylar, Kayla, Courtney and Kameron. He leaves a brother Kevin, wife Yvonne and 3 children, sister Maureen, husband Bobby and 2 children, sister Mary Teresa, husband Kirk and 1 child, sister Kelley and husband TJ and 2 children. He leaves numerous cousins and a beloved Aunt Rose Marie Thompson, a mother-in-law Netta Warren, brother-in-law Tom Warren and his children and grandchildren.
Al served his country in the US Navy for 23 years and retired in 1992 as a Master Chief Machinist Mate. He then went to work for Military Sealift Command as a Damage Control Officer and retired June 30 2016 after 24 years of service. He had a strong faith in the Lord and knew where his eternal home would be. He was a member of the Van Rose Sunday School class at First Baptist Church of Norfolk. He loved the game of pool and was a member of the 8 Ball Express pool team under the Eastern Amateur Pool League Association.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Norfolk at 312 Kempsville Rd, Norfolk on Wednesday August 17 from 1130 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with funeral service following at 1 pm. A cremation and final services will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of the Princess Anne Hospital 3rd Floor ICU unit for their attention and compassion during his stay. Family requests in lieu of flowers to make donations to the Wounded Warriors Project, American Cancer Society , Fisher House or charity of your choice in Al’s honor.
