Alexandria Jean “Sandy” Rainville, 60, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in Chesapeake. Born on April 5, 1954 in Miami, FL, she was the daughter of the late Louis Deren and Alice Mary St. Louis Deren. Sandy worked as a Mortgage Underwriter for Fulton Bank, and when not working, she loved boating with her husband. She was a wise woman who’s opinion was valued and sought by many; Sandy could always be trusted for her sound advice. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by loving husband, Bruce G. Rainville of Chesapeake; a daughter, Bree Layton of WV; two step-children, Anna Marie Rainville of San Diego, CA and John Paul Rainville of Tiverton, RI; and a nephew, Josh Deren of northern VA.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sandy’s name to the American Kidney Association.

Sandy will be missed by all and personally will miss that dry, sarcastic wit and humor of hers. My prayers and thoughts go out to her family and especially Bruce and Bree. Sandy will always be in my thoughts.
I am very saddened to know that Sandy has left us…she was an inspiration to many…I feel blessed to have known her, and honored to have her as my friend…even though I never met her in person. This dear dear lady fought a tough battle, and somehow through all of it, she remained positive and maintained her sense of humor. Sandy, may you be at peace now…..Bruce thank you for staying by her side through everything….you’re also a special person…you were her hero. Sending my hugs to Heaven now.
I just heard about Sandy’s passing. She worked for me at Fulton Mortgage as an Underwriter back over 2 years ago now and I was happy to have her as part of my team. I knew she was struggling with her health issues during that time but she always put on a brave face and I always hoped that everything would work out for her… I moved on to another company which is why I just heard the news. I am so sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. I just found out. My heart goes out to her husband and her daughter. Sandy was such a delight. I had the wonderful experience of working alongside her at Bank of America. She was always so supportive. I constantly prayed for her and hoped that someday she would be able to find a donor. She is such an inspiration to all with her strength and courage. She will be missed. Rest in peace Sandy.
