
Allen Taylor Cecil, 63, of Salem passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center. He was born on September 25, 1950 to the late Russell M. and Frances Hodges Cecil. Allen was the owner of Top Notch Tree Service where he did tree work for many years for residents throughout the Roanoke Valley. Allen was truly one of a kind and spent countless hours helping anyone who needed a helping hand. Allen was an excellent cook and was famous for his pulled pork barbeque that he enjoyed cooking on the grill for special events and occasions. Allen enjoyed hunting and fishing and the simple things in life including flat footing, camping with friends and family, riding in his truck through the back roads of Catawba, drinking a cold beer, swapping stories with friends, and most of all, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Allen was preceded in death by his brother and best friend, Larry Ray Cecil. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Robin Campbell, Michelle Brown and husband Roger; and faithful son, Jeffrey Cecil. Also surviving are his sister, Patricia Price and husband, Bill; a brother, Richard Cecil and wife, Mary; four grandchildren, Brandon Anderson, Carissa Anderson, Madison and Mackenzie Brown; nieces and nephews, Ginger Taylor, Tim Price, Wynona Fowler, Kendall White, Jason Cecil, Justin Cecil, Joshua Cecil, and Jason Kelley; one aunt, Jane Campbell; one uncle, Calvin Hodges; and his former spouse and the mother of his children, Kathy Wolczuk. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Bentley and Cambree Anderson, and unborn baby girl Aubri Trivette.
Allen will be dearly missed and forever loved. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Grace Assembly of God, 5530 Catawba Valley Drive, Catawba, VA. The Rev. Lorraine Taylor will be officiating.

Allen had a big heart! Peace to Allen and his family..Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
I hope you have finally found peace, and you are celebrating your new life with your family in heaven, enjoy I know you have missed them. I want to thank you for the beautiful three children I have, and their big hearts they got from you.
There is nothing I can say to make this easier. Know you are in my prayers and I am with you in spirit. He is with his Mother, father and Larry and is truly at peace.
