Anita Ann Bunge, 80, passed away on December 10th, 2022. Anita was born on March 1st, 1942, to Erwin and Gilda Lemmermann in Brooklyn, NY. She is predeceased by both parents, her brother, Robert Lemmermann, and her sister, Joan Gavin. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 36 years, Warner (Mickey) Bunge of Virginia Beach; her four children, Susan Davis and husband, Dan, of Moyock, NC, Scott Metzger of Chesapeake, Catherine Orr and husband, Gary, of Chesapeake, James Metzger and wife, April, of Virginia Beach; her brothers, Gerard Lemmermann and wife, JoAnn, of Virginia Beach, Richard Lemmermann and wife, Annette, of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Anita was beautiful inside and out. She was kind, warm-hearted, comforting, generous, hardworking, smart, and loyal to her family to a fault. Anita was a navy wife of 22 years, and then started as a receptionist at the Savings & Loan Bank where she became the head of the Human Resources department overseeing 180 employees within just two years. To say that Anita loved her family is an understatement. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of being a good mom and grandmother. Her kids and grandkids were her greatest purpose, and she had a special relationship with each one of them. She always enjoyed entertaining her friends, family, and was very talented in the kitchen- everything she baked or cooked was delicious.
Anita was such a light in this world. She loved everyone unconditionally, always greeted you with a big smile and a huge hug. She will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm, Saturday. December 17th, 2022 at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations with a service to follow at 4:00 pm.

Aunt Anita you had a way of making us feel we were your favorite. Your heart was ginormous, and held so much love to share. I will miss YOU big time! Cherish our talks and the memory of An era irreplaceable voice and spirit. I have comfort knowing you are with my mom your beloved sister Joan Ann where you’ll be given angelic roles to play so we can all laugh again. Our hearts ache.
Indeed you were a rock star kind of Aunt. I will treasure all the beautiful loving memories and the funny ones too. Drive in Car washes and jelly fish have a whole new meaning because I shared them with you. Sigh…
Love Your favorite niece Joan Mary “wink” DG , Kaia and Gracie
