
Ann Wilson DeVasher Mitchell, 92, of Roanoke, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 7th, 2014.
She was born in Peterstown, WV on June 7, 1922. She was a long time faithful member of New Covenant Christian Church where she served in many different capacities. Her careers included childcare and fashion retail. What meant the most to her was spending time with her family. She was talented in playing the piano and enjoyed singing in her church choir. She found great pleasure in helping others.
Her parents James Monroe and Matilda Wilson, eight sisters, six brothers, her husbands; Isaac DeVasher and Claude Mitchell and her daughter Nancy DeVasher Wilson, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her daughter, Suzanne Parsells, two grandsons, Aaron Feldman and John Michael Wilson along with many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Special thanks to all the staff at Raleigh Court Health and Rehabilitation for providing excellent care during the time she spent there. She considered them all family.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations, 4922 Valley View Blvd. N, Roanoke with the Rev Joy M. Gambon officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 – 6:00 pm., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
