I had the pleasure of working many years with Asa at FoodLion. He was a very kind man who always had a positive attitude and a gentle smile on his face. I was saddened to see his name in the paper this morning, but am thrilled he is at home with our Lord. Asa was a fine man and I was honored to call him a friend. Sincerely, Tina
I’ll never forget my earliest recollection of Uncle Pete. I was only about four years old and we were at Mama Grace and Pappy’s house. Pete was still in the army and he came walking down the stairs in his uniform. I remember all the ribbons and shiny things on his chest and thought he had to be the bravest soldier in the world. Ever time I saw Pete after that (and it was often) I always thought of that moment 60 years ago. Toni and I are sitting at the kitchen table with Beth and Jeremy talking about him now. How easy going and how much like Pappy he was. He will be sorely missed.
Asa, I am sorry to learn of the loss of you father. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Pam Pine
