Barbara Ann McQueen passed away March 30, 2017 in Virginia Beach after a strong and courageous fight with cancer.
She was born in Chicago on April 9, 1955, to Barbara Marie and James McQueen. Barb will be dearly missed by all of her wonderful and loving friends as well as her brother, John McQueen (Sandusky); and her sister Val McMurtrie and niece Suzanne McMurtrie (Ypsilanti) and many other relatives. Her parents, as well as her brothers, James Daniel McQueen and Jimmy McQueen, preceded her in death.
Per Barb’s request, there will be no Funeral Home Visitation or Funeral Services and Cremation will take place. Barb was someone full of life and she would want you to celebrate her memory giving and bringing your love and generosity to others. May we do that in her honor!

We all have a beautiful angel to look over us! She is truly a gift that never complained. She encouraged and care about those around her – maybe more than herself. We will miss you but hold you close to our hearts and stay with us with wonderful memories. Love you always!!!
Barb, you are the best and I love you so much. You certainly are an angel who gifted us in many thoughtful ways over the years. Suzanne, John and I will miss you. Now, you are out of your pain and in a place were your light will continue to shine forever. Thanks for being such a great sister to John and I and a wonderful aunt to Suzanne. Your caring and love for us will never be forgotten. Happy birthday to you early and may you celebrate it next weekend with all the other angels in our family and the many friends you have in Heaven who are with you now.

Barb, I miss you and look forward to seeing you again.
Barb always asked how I was feeling and she always said she was so worried about me. I have allergies but SHE was worried about ME. I enjoyed chatting with her at work. Her stories were entertaining and interesting. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
Barbara, I’ll always remember that even on days when you didn’t feel well, you always took the time to give me a kind word. We shared a few laughs and stories at work…you were such a sweet spirit. Rest in peace…
