Barry Allan King, 50, of Roanoke, was born July 11, 1964. He went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 30, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Alan and Grace Leona Roop King. He attended Glenvar High School in Salem, VA. He enjoyed the scenic views on the Blue Ridge Parkway. He was a lover of cats and dogs. You could always find him in the mornings watching his favorite talk shows. He will be missed by family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his sisters, Darlene Amos, Evelyn Gordon, Jean King; brothers, Randall King, Evan King, John E. (Nancy) King, Calvin King; special cousin, Michael Root; longtime friend, Toby Wiseman; his partner, Curtis Brooks and his caregiver, Alfreda Raczynski.
The family would like to thank Roanoke Memorial Hospital, The Cancer Center of Roanoke and Raleigh Court Health & Rehab for their compassion and kindnesses.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone…
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
