Betty Lou Bennett, 54, passed away peacefully Friday, September 25, 2015 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Bennett was born June 18, 1961 to the late Robert and Ida Sargent in Portsmouth, VA. Betty was loved unicorns, dragons and wizards. Betty loved music, which she passed that love and meaning of music to each of her children. She loved animals and taking care of them. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family watching the Redskins on Sunday’s playing cards, watching wrestling and gathering together with family to celebrate the holidays together. Betty’s kindness and love was felt everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Mrs. Bennett will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 20 years, Kenneth Bennett; two sons, Joseph Sargent and his wife Aundria Sargent of Milwaukee, WI, and Mark Cubilla, Jr. of Chesapeake; daughter, LaToyoria Taylor and her finance Todd Jeter, Jr. of Chesapeake; three grandchildren (and one on the way): Isaac Marley Sargent, Blake Dillinger and Sophie Coopman; sister, Nina Lleces of Chesapeake; brother, Richard Sargent of North Carolina, niece, Donna Lleces; two nephews, Jon Lleces and Alex Lleces, Jr.; and two beloved pets, “Kane” and “Berretta”

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 2, 2015 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Please share your condolences with the family at www.FamilyChoiceFunerals.com
