
Billy Glenn Curry, 80, passed away peacefully at home. Born on September 16, 1932, he was the son of the late John and Mattie Curry of McKinney, Texas. Billy retired from the U.S. Air Force where he excelled in the culinary arts. This skill carried over to owning and operating two thriving bakeries in southern California. After settling in Hampton Roads, he enjoyed spending time with his family, dogs, golfing, and traveling.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon; daughters, Pamela Snider (Paul Lavoie), Deborah Nichols (Greg), Teresa Russell (Andy), and Glenda Smith; sons, Shawn Curry and Matthew Snider (Carlee); brothers, John Curry (Betty), Robert Curry (Mary Ann), and James Curry (Linda); 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Billy is predeceased by grandson, Gary Schauer and sister, Hylah Richey.
A celebration of Billy’s life will be held at his home at a later date. Please check back for updated information. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Comfort Care Hospice and Chesapeake Regional Medical Center for their compassionate and loving care of Billy during his extended illness. Memorial contributions may be offered in his name to the Disabled American Veterans or the ASPCA.
