Robert “Bob” Matthews, 75, passed away April 20, 2014 in the comfort of his home.
Bob as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born December 26, 1938 in Washington D.C. to the late Amy May Ruck. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy. Bob worked as a Technician for 3M until his retirement. Bob had a soft heart and never met a stranger. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. Bob enjoyed playing card games on the computer as well as with his friends. Every Sunday he enjoyed breakfast with his close group of friends. He enjoyed a good western movie in the comfort of his recliner. Bob will always be remembered as loving companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted companion of 30 years, Millie Robinson; four sons: Robert Matthews and wife Nikki, Robert, Ronald. Ryan Robinson; daughter, Rebecca Robinson; sister, Susan M. Tester; brother, George E. Ruck; nine grandchildren: Kevin, Amber, Jon Ryan Robinson, Christina Lay, Alli and Daniel Heisler, Ryan Milligan, and Jamie Gaston and Katherine Strange; three nieces: Amanda Tester, Katherine Jewell and Cheree Ruck; and special friends, Charles Shiflett, Claudette Tennyson and their families. Bob is preceded in death by a brother, John E. Ruck, III.
