Brandon Thomas Head, 22, entered into the presence of his heavenly father at 8:48 am on Monday, October 3rd, 2016 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was born at 12:21 am on August 31st, 1994 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Brandon was the son of Stephen and Roberta Head. He was a devout child of God and a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
He was a 2012 graduate of Princess Anne High School. He was active in a number of clubs in school and participated in church functions and community events such as: CHKD, Make a Wish, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Polar Plunge, Operation Smile, Out of the Darkness Walk, Relay for Life, Breast Cancer Awareness, Virginia Beach Animal Shelter, Legit (church Youth Band), Vacation Bible School, Spanish Club, Asian Club, Diversity Club, 30 Hour Famine/World Hunger projects, National Youth Gathering, Enchanted Evenings, Association of the Deaf-Blind, assembling Food Baskets, and Car Washes for his church Youth Groups. He enjoyed bowling with the Tidewater Lutheran’s Bowling League. Brandon will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, god-son and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory are parents, Stephen and Roberta Head, sister, Brianna Head; brother, John Head; god-mother, Joni Shafer; god-father, David Malucci; and god-daughter, Kieran Guillory. He is preceded in death by: aunt, Rachel Bielefeld, uncle, Randall Head; pop-pop, John Head; mom-mom, Sallie Head; uncle, Patrick Head; step-grandfather, Norbert Leyh, and grandmother, Arloa Leyh.
Brandon was a Knight of the Bald Table, an honor bestowed upon him in 2014 by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for his many years of participation and commitment in raising awareness of pediatric childhood cancers. He was known for lighting up a room with his smile or laughter. He loved to tell jokes and little stories. If you were having a bad day, Brandon would either sit, with all the patience in the world and let you open up to him, or he would give you a massage and ease away your tension.
Brandon was a Crusader, not with just his own issues, but he would fight the fight for anyone who was unable to fight for themselves.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 16th, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Hope Lutheran Church, 5350 Providence Rd. Virginia Beach, Virginia 23464.

Our deepest and sincerest condolences to you, Roberta and family, at the passing of precious Brandon. He was such a bright spot in our Sunday mornings, and we loved listening to his voice soar as we worshipped together. Soliman was very much influenced by Brandon’s steadfast faith and will always carry his example with him. I will never forget the conversations I was able to have with him after church, and the way he made me want to embrace life with the same passion that he did. We are praying for the Lord to comfort your hearts even as we celebrate the life he now has with our Savior.

I will always cherish memories of time spent with Brandon. I loved his giving heart, laugh and smile. He was so loving and generous…I was so very touched when he shared his cherished Stitch with me when I had my surgeries. He may no longer walk beside you..but I know he will be watching over you sending his special brand of love & care. Roberta, Steve, Briana & John..my heart hurts for you..sending hugs of comfort & support.
Roberta,
My heart aches for your loss. Brandon was a beautiful soul-he was the first to lift anyone up when they were down and was truly an inspiration for living your faith through a Godly life. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Our prayers, hearts, and tears are with the Head family. Even though he endured problems here on earth, his faith and love for God never wavered. I first met Brandon when Hope used to have Bible Club on Wednesday nights. His answers to Bible questions included practical living, which showed spiritual maturity beyond his age. His faith in God was evident through his laughter, love for God’s people, and his love for God’s Word. We will miss him, but we thank God for the privilege to have known Brandon, and look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.
