
Carl D. Mausolf, Sr. 76, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Frank and Grace Ashley Mausolf, he is pre-deceased by brother Robert Frederick Rigsby, and survived by son Carl D. Mausolf, Jr. (Frances Sansone), siblings, Joanne Lloyd and William Mausolf, nieces, nephews and friends.
His work like began in a Louisa saw mill at the age of 14. Carl received his G.E.D. and attended college later in life. He worked as a U.S. Navy Radioman and also HVAC mechanic and Shop Supervisor. Carl retired from the Public Works Dept. as a Planner Estimator in 2003. He was a past Master and past District Deputy Grand Master Masonic District 35A.
Carl enjoyed woodworking, country music, square dancing, competitive clogging, western novels, vegetable gardening and karaoke. A Masonic memorial service will be held at Norfolk Lodge No. 1, 7001 Granby St., Sat., Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. Donations in Carl’s memory may be made to the Masonic Temple Roof Replacement Fund.
Carl will be missed by so many people. I met Carl, about 7 years ago, at Hardees. Everyone enjoyed listening to him sing and I know that it was a pleasure for him to share his talent. “Seven Spanish Angels” will be singing with him now.
