
Carole Honeycutt Herbert, age 85, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away peacefully July 31, 2021. Carole was born on September 29, 1935, in Princess Anne County, to Floyd and Edith Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Honeycutt, her parents, and her brother Floyd Wilson.
Left to cherish her memory are her three adult children: Jewell (Roy), Jerome (Cheryl), and Shade (Maria), her grandchildren, Chad, Carrie, Jay, Chase, Ben, Grayson, Wil, Ariel, and two great grandchildren, Sadie and Nolan, with a third on the way, husband Edward Herbert and his family.
After raising her three children, Carole graduated from Old Dominion University and taught first grade at Hermitage Elementary for 16 years. She was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church for 70 years. Carole was an active church member and belonged to the Agape class. She served on various committees and participated in many fund-raising activities over the years. Carole also belonged to the Junior Women’s Club of Virginia Beach and the Sallie Browne Circle.
Her great joy was giving to others, and she loved hosting family and friends. Her home was always a hub of activity. Carole loved baking, quilting, basket making, and playing cards. She was known for her famous Wissie cakes, named for her beloved mother. Carole was affectionately known by Suggie and Ketter.
The family is very grateful for the love, care, and attention she received from her two cousins Phyllis Dowdy and Ruth Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Virginia Beach United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at VBUMC Thursday, Aug. 12, at 11 am. A small reception will be held following the service.

My condolences to the family. Suggie joined our little group on Wednesday for lunch or dinner often and always brought a big smile to the table. She will be missed!
