Carole Elaine Saunders, 68, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on December 26, 1946 in Roanoke, VA, she was the daughter of the late Nova Crist Wimmer and Virginia Vestell Milliron Wimmer. Carole was a Homemaker, and was a member of St. Luke UMC in Virginia Beach, VA and former member of Kempsville Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach. Carole enjoyed crocheting, playing card and board games, and watching police dramas on TV. She held a special place in her heart for children and dearly loved her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Roy E. Saunders; a daughter, Tammy Randall and her husband, David; a son, Roy Saunders II and his wife, Melanie; a sister, Annette Wickham and her husband, Richard; six grandchildren, Kevin, Krista, Torry, Roy III, Morgen, and Amber; nephew, Christopher; and niece, Sandra.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Luke UMC, 3396 Stoneshore Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 6th, 2015 at 9 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at noon at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her name to the The Union Mission Ministries, 5100 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502.
