
Charles William Baber, III, 73, returned home to be with the Lord, October 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Baber was born December 16, 1941 to the late Charles William Baber, Jr. and LaRue Lillie Koogler. Chuck lived in Waynesboro in his younger years. His first year, his mom and dad couldn’t pick his name. He was called “The Baby” before his parents settled on Charles, III taking after his father. Chuck was “Little Charlie” He graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
Left to cherish his memory are: his loving wife, Sherry, son, Eric; daughter, Holly Moore, brother, Gerald “Jerry” Baber and wife Wanda; eight grandchildren: Gordon and Kalley Moore, Margaret Sant, Dalton Palmer, Izabel, Steve, Alexa Petroff and Nathan Palmer; and extended family members: Joy Sant and husband Bill, Robert Palmer, Elizabeth Petroff and husband Steve.
Chuck’s biggest interest and enjoyment was his family, the many friends both in the church and the scouting program. In Waynesboro, he received the Order of the Arrow and his Eagle Scout. He enjoyed being the scout master for trooper 443 with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He never missed a camp out. Chuck loved hunting, collecting knives and straight razors and fishing and sharing some “big fish stories”
Chuck was the first operations manager for Best Products in Lynchburg; and as later transferred to open the store on Military Hwy. and Independence Blvd.
A service Celebrating Charles’ life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 4784 Princess Anne Road on Thursday at 11AM with Bishop Karl Thorpe officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Chuck’s hospice nurses Heather Robinson and Elaine for their kindness and helping hand.

I will miss you so very much my brother. I know we hadn’t seen each other lately, but we did talk a lot. I have a great deal of memories.
