Chris A. Leggett, 61, of Roanoke, died on April 19, 2014 and now rests waiting for the Lord’s return. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Faye and Paul, as well as brother-in-law Gary. He is survived by his son Louis, daughter Caroline, and sister Donna. Chris loved to have adventures, loved to laugh.

Private services will be held by the family.

    Chris, you will be missed. We all enjoyed your stories, and seeing your smiling face. You were, and always will be so much more than just a client, you are part of our “family”. Our deepest condolences to your family and friends. Heaven has gained an Angel!

    Wishing Chris’s family God’s comfort in this time of grief. The Virginia Gentlemen so enjoyed having Chris as a member during the few years that he sang with us. He was a great guy.

    Caroline & Louis,
    I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad, and that he came into your life in a such a very real manner so late. My hat is off to you both for your poise and courage, and honesty in dealing with all of the complexities. Your Dad and I were good friends early on and I have such great memories of visiting you guys in Roanoke when you and John H were little tikes. It was great fun!

    ITS SAD FOR ME AS A CLOSE FRIEND OF YOUR FATHERS TO LEARN OF HIS PASSING. I HAVE BEEN TRYING VERY HARD TO LOCATE HIM RECENTLY, EVEN CALLING LOCAL HOSPITALS…WITHOUT SUCCESS. YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR ME YOUR FATHER WAS A GOOD FRIEND. THERE IS MUCH WE SHARED AS CLOSE FRIENDS. DONNA I HOPE YOU REMEMBER WE WENT TO DINNER WHEN YOU WERE IN TOWN ONCE. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR FAMILY HAS BEEN THROUGH A LOT.I AM VERY SORRY. I WELCOME THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHAT IF GIVEN THE CHANCE. I DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW CHRIS DIED AND AM VERY SADDENED.     Chris and I always talked during or after the Indy 500. It will seem very different without him, but he’ll be watching.
