Daniel Ray (Danny) Hamilton Sr. passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2022. He is survived by his father Edward Hamilton, his son Daniel Ray Hamilton II, and grandson Daniel Ray Hamilton III, nieces and nephews Shawn A. Sharp, Dameon A. Sharp, Kiya A. Sharp, and Kaycee L. Sharp
Daniel is preceded by his wife Laura J. (McKinney) Hamilton, mother Myrtle (Hatfield) Hamilton, his maternal grandparents George Hatfield and Dot Hatfield, his paternal grandparents Jay Hamilton and Mary Hamilton, as well as his adopted son Charles (Chaz) Holmes.
Danny was born and raised in Portsmouth Va. He was always the clown of the group, but cared immensely for his friends and family. He absolutely adored all of the children and would drop anything to spend time with them. Anytime someone needed help he was the first to be there to lend a helping hand. He was a man of many trades, but electrical work was what he knew best. He had some quirky ways that everyone loved. It was hard not to like him. He will be deeply missed by all.
There will be a Celebration of Life memorial taking place in the near future. Please contact the family for details.

Rest in peace cheese. You were a wonderful man, awsome dad, and a great friend to many. You will be missed. There was just no way you couldn’t like this man. He would and has given the shirt off his back to help someone else in need. Until we meet again my friend.
