
Denise Aldyth Young (nee Aiken) was born on March 23, 1950 in Kingston Jamaica.
The first born child of Avil and Ralph Aiken, Denise spent parts of her childhood in Portland and St. Andrew. While attending school in Content Gap St. Andrew she met
Patrick Young. They were married August 20, 1969.
Denise and Patrick migrated to the United States in the early 1970’s and eventually made their home in Hempstead, NY. Denise worked at the Pall Corporation for a few years until she became a stay at home mother to their three children Andrea, Andre, Vanessa, and her foster children
Denise and Patrick moved their family to Virginia Beach in 2005 where she battled her illness and succumbed on March 29, 2014.
Denise is survived by her husband Patrick; mother, Avil Aiken, three children: Andrea, Andre (Antoinette) and Vanessa; four grandchildren: Kenneth, Terrion, Vince and Princess; two sisters: Diane Aiken-Miller and Annmarie Aiken; and numerous nephews nieces, two grand-nephews and one grand niece.
Denise also leaves brother-in law, Philip Young (Lasomie), sisters-in-law, Amoy (Fred) Lyn(Tony) and Margaret Young Menard.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
