  1. Donnie was a good, honest, and extremely humble man. There was never a day, I saw him that he didn’t have a glowing smile and endlessly positive attitude. Donnie is the reason I have a career a chimney sweep. If he didnt convince Ray the start cleaning chimneys then A Step in Time would have never existed. For this I am forever grateful. My deepest sympathy to his wife, children, and the rest of the family. We all loved Donnie and he will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

  4. Thank you for the nice comments that are already posted. It seems that Donny was loved and well-respected by his friends. You may not know that Donny was raised on a farm in the little town of Wynantskill,NY. Most of our favorite chilhood memories were created there, and great fun was had by all. We have a big, close family.Donny was the dear brother of Marilyn & Bill; cherished father of Robin & Kim and their families; beloved uncle of Scott, Lori, Shari, Michael & Colleen and their families; adored cousin (and partner in mischief) of Jackie, Linda, Mark, Jeff, Kurt, Steve, Donna & Janine…not to mention all the Gummer cousins; impish nephew of Clara & Sally Radz. In addition to his parents, Donny was predeceased by his uncles, Don and Harold(HP) Radz,Jr., and cousin Jeff.
That none of us was allowed to bid him a final good-bye will be a source of overwhelming sadness forever. Donny was one of the most kindhearted and fun-loving people I have ever known. He was a wonderful role model for all of us, more like an older brother than a cousin. We will all miss him. Thanks for the memories, Donny. Rest in peace.

  5. A man could not ask for a better friend. On the job he was hard working and knowledgeable in all phases of masonry and concrete and was second to none. As a friend he was there for anything and everything, from taking care of my kids, to building my house with me. We could always make each other laugh no matter how bad of a situation we were in. Since 1979 I could always count on Donnie to be there. It is strange to look around the job and not see him there; my work and my life will not be the same without him. He will be deeply missed.

    Best friends always,

    Jimmy

  9. Uncle Donnie……your big smile and huge heart is going to be missed by so many. Your infectious laugh and happy spirit is what I will always hold dear!

I love that you remember watching Brad, Adam & Alex while we went to dinner and saw a play only to come home and find that Alex’s chicken pox had tripled on your watch. Funny, huh!

You wonderful friend Jimmy is missing you so much so you need to send some extra angel dust down his way. I hope that you and Mr V are fishing and golfing and having a grand ole time.

My love and hugs to you!

  10. This is Buger Benson here. You gave me that name when you came home from the service and it has stayed with me ever since. Whenever you were with us it meant one thing: FUN! We were free to do as we pleased and it taught us independence and gave us an inner strength. I am still faithfully working out which is a legacy you gave me ever since you brought me up in the horse barn when I was around 8 or 9 and started me lifting weights. I will forever value your belief in a strong body. As for our minds, well……..? Can’t have everything, right? Ha, Ha.
I’ll keep climbing trees for the sheer fun of it. For that is what life is all about, right?
    I will miss you greatly,
    Your Nephew,
    Bugger Benson

  12. Lori told me I spelled Booger wrong. I am Booger Benson, not Buger Benson. Either way, I am still extremely sad right now.
