Don Mangum was my first true neighbor when I moved to Virginia over 30 years ago. To me and my family, he was like a loving Uncle or Grandpa, and watched out for my child and expressed interest in my work. He took great care of his home. He and Bea always had a kind word and an optimistic outlook. If we needed to borrow a tool, he was quick to offer help. We kept in touch for a while but regrettably we lost touch after many years.
My best wishes and condolences to to his family at this time of loss.
