Doris Van Auken, 62, of Virginia Beach went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 2. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri and was the daughter of Erin Douglas Dean and the late Charles Dean.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her loving husband, John; two sons James and Evan; her daughter, Jacqueline; two brothers Charles and Robert Dean; and a sister Nancy Adalian.
Doris was a witty, kind, and loving friend, mother, and wife, who made many people happy for her having been in their lives. Go with God.
Arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, which fade so soon, you may send a little azalea bush which will be planted in her back yard.
