
NORFOLK – Dorothy Louise Lay Young, 56, of Norfolk, passed away on September 7, 2010. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Clarence “Bud” and Alma Shirley Burgess Lay. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Veronica Treem and her husband, Tim of Charlotte, NC; a son, Lee Rager, Jr. of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Michaellee Witek, Zahara Witek, Cheyenne Treem, and Alison Rager; and two nephews, Bill Mansourzadeh and Danny Rose. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Rose; and her brother, Otis Lay.
A private viewing was held at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach. Services and interment will be private. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org). The family invites you to share condolences via the online guestbook.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dorothy was such a sweet lady. Lee, I don’t know if you remember me, I met you and your mom a few years ago at Applebees in Staunton. She helped me and many others tremendously! I will always remember her love and kindness. She was a wonderful woman.
She will truly be missed. Such a very sweet woman. I will miss talking to her in the chat room.
