
Emma Lee Stacey McClain was born August 28, 1941 to the late Deacon Richard and Annie Lou Stacey of Geneva, Alabama. She departed this life on 12 March 2015 after a brief illness. At an early age, she joined St. John Baptist Church in Geneva, Alabama. Later she moved her membership to The Way, the Truth and the Life Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, where she served until her death.
During her lifetime, Emma enjoyed cooking, watching the animal channel, teaching Sunday School and reading the Bible. She was a Bible scholar and she taught everyone she came in contact with each day. She was employed for over 20 years with the Virginia Beach Public School system, where she retired October 2005.
She is preceded in death by Rosie Lee Harris, Murray Stacey, Lucille King, Rebecca Jackson, Cephus Stacey, and Bertha May Tolbert.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Michael Anthony Stacey (Lisa) who currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Two sisters, Dorothy Ree Stacey, Enterprise and Louise Johnson (Albert), Saginaw, MI. Two brothers, Farris Stacey and Joe (Sophie) Stacey, Geneva, AL. Six grand-children, Jaselyn (Mark) Gonzalez, Jenna (Kevin) Marshall, Chelsea, Courtney, and Cailyn Stacey, and Jhorydian Cumba and four great-grand children, John Blackwell, Elias, Isaiah, and Samuel Gonzalez. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She also leaves to cherish her memory, a special niece Brenda Mason and her fiancée Mark Persaud and a special friend, Elizabeth Calvin.
