Erwin N. Arellano, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was born on February 25, 1944 in Urdaneta, Philippines to Juan and Thelma Arellano. The first of 7 children, Erwin married Nena Buenagua on December 26, 1970 in Manila. Erwin served in the U.S. Navy for 26 years before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1999. Erwin enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, volunteering at Holy Spirit Parrish and with the Urdaneta City Association of Virginia Beach, and serving as a Master Mason with the Victory Daylight Lodge.

Left to honor Erwin are his three children, Eric Arellano, Erin (David) Westcott, Rena (Steve) Thompson; and grandchildren Alex and Andrew Westcott. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 beginning with a viewing at 11:00 am and a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations, 5401 Indian River Rd, Virginia Beach. Family, friends, and others whose lives Erwin touched are invited to reminisce and celebrate his life.

    My deepest sympathy to Erwin’s family. He was a fighter. UCHS Batch ‘60 will miss him.
