
Everett Woodrow Poulter, Sr., 87, of Virginia Beach, passed away on December 11, 2011. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late William and Sarah Begar Poulter and husband to the late Mattie L. Poulter. He served his country during World War II with the Army.
He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Poulter Zerbe and her husband, Neil; six sons, Everett, Jr. and his wife, Susan, Edward and his wife, Pat, William “Bill” and his wife, Robin, Wallace “Andy”, Johnie, and “Kenny”; a brother, Allen and his wife, Brenda; a sister-in-law, Nettie Harris; seventeen grandchildren, Lisa Teal, Brandon Poulter, Sara Poulter Bridges, Dawn Todd, Jared Bailey, Amy Poulter, Jacob Poulter, Brian McCartney, Jennifer Poulter, Jessie Harris, Allison (Allie) Burch, Lance Poulter, Rachel Lowe, Michele Johnson, Stacy Truman, Michael Poulter, and Amanda Poulter; twenty-one great-grandchildren, Connor Teal, Kayleigh Doyle, Jenna Doyle, Abigail Bridges, Olivia Bridges, Haley Todd, Hannah Todd, Parker Todd, Hunter Bailey, Autumn Poulter, Emmy McCartney, Caroline McCartney, Samantha McCartney, Rebecca McCartney, Ethan Burch, Ian Lowe, Summer Lowe, Amber Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Mackenzie Truman, and Kayleigh Truman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 11 a.m. at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach. The family would like to express their gratefulness to Dr. Michael Moro and his staff for the loving care they gave to Everett, Sr. and his wife, Mattie.
