
Frederick William “Bill” Butt, 79, of Virginia Beach, died on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in Virginia Beach. He was the son of the late Alvin and Eula Jaiser.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Edie Hatchel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; four surviving sons: William Steven, Terry, Wayne, and James; three surviving daughters: Nancy, Shirley Gay, and Pam; and two surviving sisters: Mellie Maddox and Margaret Ann Connelley.
Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge Lynnhaven #120 and the Khedive Shrine Center. He was a Late Model Sportsman Stock Car Driver in the 1970’s who raced at Langley Raceway. He was a commercial/ instrument/multi-engine rated pilot and was an avid yachtsman. Bill grew up in Ocean View and Willoughby. He was a member of the U.S. Navy, he worked for the Virginian Pilot, and retired from the Washington Star as a printer. Bill was a previous owner of Larkspur Texaco.

We will miss him. Raleigh worked with him longer than I did, but he was a dear friend to both of us. May God give you and the family peace in your heart knowing he has crossed over into a better place.
