Harvey A. Evans, Jr., 79, passed away on February 21, 2014 in Roanoke. A native of Fayetteville, NC, he was the son of the late Harvey A. Evans, Sr. and Mabel Bryant Evans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in Korea. Mr. Evans retired after twenty-five years of service with the U.S. Post Office, and enjoyed driving exotic cars and listening to Jazz.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn P. Evans; two daughters, Tanya Evans of Roanoke and Kelly Evans James of Kissimmee, FL; a son, Kevin D. Evans and his wife, Jessette of Greensboro, NC; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel; and a daughter, Tracey.

Services have not been scheduled. Interment will take place at Southwestern Virginia Veterans’ Cemetery, Dublin, VA.
