Henry F. Sauer, 99, a long-time resident of North Roanoke Assisted Living, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013. He was the son of the late Henry and Caroline Sauer and is also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Sauer.

Henry is survived by his 4 daughters; Barbara Carlson, Janine Kollar, Esther Hayes and Ellen Johnson; 1 son, Andrew Sauer and brother, Walter Sauer. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Henry retired from the US Postal Service where he served as a mail carrier for many years. He also was a professional saxophone player. He enjoyed playing in bands, photography and had a love for sports and nature.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 14 at Melville Cemetery Association, Melville, NY.

Condolences may be left for the family in his book of memories.
