Irene Rodriguez, 91, passed away on November 25, 2013 in Virginia Beach. She was born March 17, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Loretta Linehan. She later moved to Portsmouth, Virginia, and spent the majority of her days there. Employed for 32 years with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, she retired in 1980.

Irene thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, the late Roberto Rodriguez. Over their fifty years of marriage, they visited countless countries and continents. They particularly enjoyed their yearly trips to Las Vegas. When not traveling, Irene and Roberto loved to go dancing.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Loretta Linehan and her husband, Roberto. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, James and Sandra Rodriguez of Norfolk, granddaughter Jennifer Rodriguez of Norfolk, grandson and wife, Jasan and Dawn Rodriguez of Jenkins, Kentucky, two great-grandchildren, Dawsan and Layla Rodriguez and a host of dear friends.

Services for Irene will be held at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations of Virginia Beach at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013. A private burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Suffolk.
