
James H. Madison, Jr., 67 of Chesapeake, passed away on May 6, 2010, in Chesapeake.
Born September 8, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of the late James and Willie Mae Madison. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Evon Madison; three sons, Torrian D. Madison of Chesapeake, Terry Madison of Grand Rapids, MI and James H. Madison, III of Philadelphia, PA; two daughters, Evette (William) Arrington, and Shelly Madison, both of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Annie “Dobby” (Walter), Walters of Birmingham, AL; one step-daughter, Katrice Washington; 4 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 2608 Airline Blvd., Portsmouth with Rev. Ernest L. Reid officiating.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the lost of your loved one. It is difficult to know exactly what to say at a time like this but know that Matt is no longer in pain. He is ok.
For the time I knew Mr. Madison, he was a very caring and kind person that will be missed dearly. My heart goes out to his family.
James Madison will be missed very much. His dedication, honesty and sincerity were unsurpassed. He approached all work with enthusiasm and had an infectious smile and laugh. He set an example for us all to follow.
Mr. Madison was an incredibly kind and harding working man. He always had a friendly smile, and he went out of his way to make sure everyone in our office was taken take care of. He will be missed. My condolences on your loss.
