
Jane Ann Pullen, 90, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Virginia Beach. Born August 10, 1923 in Pennsauken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Florence Lingle and wife of the late Robert H. Pullen. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Stainton’s Department Store in Ocean City, NJ before moving to Virginia Beach in 1990. She was a past Matron and longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Crescent Chapter #55. Devoted to her family, she loved cooking and crafting and crocheting blankets for friends and family. Jane brought joy to everyone she came into contact with and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Dale Milligan-Douglass of Wildwood, NJ; a son, William “Bill” Milligan of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Ruth Elton of Merchantville, NJ; grandchildren, Tiffany Fernandez and her husband, Louis, Ainsley Arment and her husband, Benjamin, and Joshua Jeffries, all of Virginia Beach; Dawn Umosella of Hammonton, NJ and Howard Shaffer, III of Bonita Springs, FL; and nine great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Jeffries; two brothers, Russell and Webster Lingle; and a sister, Laura Schaub.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30th at 6 p.m. at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd at 11 a.m. at Zion Cemetery, Bargaintown, NJ. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Shepherd’s Chapel, P.O.
