  3. We lived in different city’s for more than 50 years but no matter how long between visits or talks when we were together it was like we had not been apart. We would laugh and giggle and talk about kids and gardens and politics and animals. You are still with me Jane and always will be love you baby sister.

  4. My Aunt Jane: My mom, Shirley, was the oldest, then Skip and Nancy. “Janie” was the youngest, just a little over 10 years older than me. She was born in St. Louis, Mo, where I saw her frequently. I remember one time playing in a kiddie pool at my grandma’s, and Aunt Jane joining us for a splash. When I was 7, we moved to California, and Jane visited us there, a flight attendant and child of the 60s with bleached blonde hair, cat glasses and some sort of wild pants. She was so cool! Years later, we lived in Denver together, when she was married to Uncle George. I still remember when Matt arrived. She was a great mother – I visited her frequently when she was taking care of Matt in the little house on Magnolia St. In later years, we didn’t see each other very often: She moved to California, and I married and moved around the world. But she will always have a bright spot in my heart, a beautiful person of smiles, love and happiness. My heart goes out to Matt and all of you in Virginia Beach, and Mary Ellen in California. I hope you too will remember the wonderful times. I know she loved you all very much.

  6. While Aunt Janie was so cool and hip (drove a light blue Volkswagen Beetle) I will always remember her voice in my head. It had a smooth and loving tone that embodied her beautiful spirit.

As such with life, she moved from St. Louis long ago but her warmth stayed.

My deepest condolences to her children, grandchildren, family and friends she cherished.

  7. Simple

    What is simple?
    One could say many things
One could say a rose in full bloom is simple
One could say a bird streaking across the open sky is simple
One could even say watching a mother bear with its cubs is simple.

Walking along a path deep in a forest
Staring up at the night sky watching the stars go by
A love from mom to child and child to mom
Simple and elegant and oh so much love

One could not say simple is boring
One could not say simple is easy
One could not say simple is mundane
One could even not say simple is simple

Simple is beauty at its finest
Simple is the peace one finds
Simple is a mother who loves her children
    Simple is just that… simple.

Simply put my love for mom will always be
Mom will always be that special simple in my life
Shining bright as a sun and moon above
Life goes on, but one never forgets
    It is just that simple
