Jeffrey Allen Wilcox, 49, of Chesapeake, passed away on Friday, October 5th, 2018 surrounded by his family. Jeff was born on May 23rd, 1969 in Rhinelander, WI to Lloyd and Charlotte Wilcox. He was a 26-year veteran of the United States Navy and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. During his military career, he traveled to every continent while serving as an Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC).
Those who knew Jeff best remember him as a lighthearted troublemaker who lovingly teased humans and dogs alike. He treasured his wife of 24 years, Maryhelen, and made her coffee every day. Jeff enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family and baking much-loved desserts. He was a lifelong Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Maryhelen, their children, Mason and Kennedy, his parents, Lloyd and Charlotte, and his sister Ginger, her husband Todd and their children, Finlee, Wyndi, Carsen, and Cooper.
A memorial service will be held at Discover Church in Chesapeake on Monday, October 8th, 2018 at 2:00 pm.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Jeff’s passing. My condolences to the entire Wilcox family. Maryhelen, Mason and Kennedy you are in my thoughts and prayers. Jeff was a tremendous Shipmate, Leader and Friend. It was a privilege to serve a long side him. Reading his obituary was a little hard for me, but it also made me smile a little because it really did capture my memory of him right down to the baking. There will not be a time when Wisconsin is playing football, that I am watching, that I won’t think of him. May God’s peace be with you.
