Jesse Heyward Morris, 81 passed away on Thurday, July 14th, 2016 in Chesapeake VA. Born on April 12 1935, in GA, he was the son of John and Ruby Morris. Jesse was a veteran of the US Navy. He worked as an Electronics Project Manager for Pac-Ord, Philco Ford, RCA and GE.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joy Morris, and his children, Cherrye (Cherrie) Moore, and Ken Morris. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joy, Jake, Jennifer, Jonathan, Stephen, Chase, and Michael. His great-grandchildren are Kimberly, Eliza Beth (EB) , Alexandria, Warren, Natalie, Dameon, Kieran, Garion, Kenna, Nathanial, and Zoie. He is also survived by his sister, June.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother and his son, Michael.
Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Church, 508 Centerville Turnpike N, Chesapeake VA 23320 at 11:00 am, Friday July 22, 2016 A graveside service will take place at 3:15 pm at Albert G. Horton Jr. Cemetery in Suffolk VA.
When asked what was the most significant and influential thing in Dad’s life, my brother answered he straightened me out. My mom said he adopted my children. My answer was he gave me his name. We all three answered at the same time. I was grown, married and had a child when he adopted me. I am proud to carry his name in my heritage.
