Jevene Hope Smith, age 76, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away May 24, 2021. Jevene was born on June 20,
1944 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to William Taggart Jr. and Frances Steeley Taggart.

Jevene worked for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools as a cafeteria worker for several years. She was also a
member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her Brother William Taggart 3 rd ; StepDaughter Brenda Nishiyama Willis; Stepson Thomas
Nishiyama; Nephew William Taggart 4 th ; Niece Sally Brozo (Husband Josh Brozo); Great Nephews Eyn Romero,
Trenton Brozo and Riley Brozo.

She was predeceased by her Husband James R. Smith.

Jevene will always be remembered as a loving wife, mom, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved playing bingo, reading,
crafting, Bunco, and spending time with family and friends.
