
Johnnie James, Jr. 57, passed away on Friday, October 6th, 2017 peacefully in his home in Newport News, Virginia, surrounded by his loving family. Johnnie was born on June 19th, 1960 in Norfolk, Virginia to Johnnie James Sr. and Josephine McClooney-James. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After Johnnie discharged from the Marines he worked as an Electrician and Mechanic and was a member of the Georgia State Bowling Association.
He is survived by Johnathan James (son), James & Pamela Murphy (spouse & daughter), Marqule & Alishia Robinson (spouse & daughter) and Sharon James (daughter), Vernetta James-Meyers (Ex-Wife), Anita Smith (Sister). Lynn & Anitrell Smith (spouse & niece), Davonte Smith (great-nephew), Vincent & Crystal James (nephew & spouse), Syncere James (great-nephew), Kapone James (great-nephew) , Alex James (great-nephew), Thomas Smith Jr. & Little Michelle Smith (nephew & spouse), Kay Smith (great-niece), Thomas D. Smith (great-nephew), Ethan Smith (great-nephew). And a host of grandchildren: Elijah Murphy, Jeremiah Murphy, Joshua Murphy, Jasiah Murphy, Isaiah Murphy, Princess-Arielle Bella Murphy, Ja’Nya James, Jae’Lynn-Rose James, Jordynn James, Jabreya James, Aharon James, Savanna Owens, Ayianna Owens, Jonathan James. A great-grandson, Jayce Murphy. And his Special friend, Vanessa Dunn
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Willie & Minnie Anderson and his parents Johnnie James Sr. & Josephine McClooney-James.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 13th, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations 5401 Indian River Road Virginia Beach, Virginia 23464

To the James family, my heart is overwhelm with the loss of JJ, he will always hold a special place in my heart as well as you ‘ll. JJ is free now riding around on the wings that God has provided him with, he is in no more pain and he will now that angel that watches over us as we travel through this world with out him. He will forever be in our Hearts but he in a better place, with God.
