
Joseph Martin Curran, Sr., 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 in the comfort of his home.
“Joe” as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born August 13, 1933 to the late Jack and Lula Curran in Northwest County, Virginia. Joe served our country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He then joined the Virginia Beach Police Department, serving our community for over 20 years, working his way up from a uniformed officer to detective; retiring as a sergeant. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 29, 2016 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church with a visitation to be held two hours prior. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
