Joseph Lee Overby, 45, of Clifton Forge, passed away on Friday, May 29th, 2015 in Salem, VA. Born on January 2nd, 1970 in Washington, DC, he was the son of Richard Overby of Colonial Beach, VA and Linda Hammond and her husband, David of Waxhaw, NC.

In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by three sisters, Jennifer Sparks and her husband, Jason of Waxhaw, NC, Debbie Knill and her husband, Greg of Westminster, MD, Julie Overby of Charlotte, NC; and a brother, Jeff Hammond of Sterling VA.

A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held in Winchester, VA at a later date. Please check back for updated information.

    My 2nd cousin Joey, I remember playing with him at the holidays or reunions or just having a get together with all the family in Avon, Indiana with my mom, (His Aunt Julia). I was only 6 when he was born but he was so much fun. My Thoughts and Prayers go out to Linda and the family from all of us.
