Joyce A. Lebo, 89, passed away peacefully Monday, February 14th, 2022.
A loving Christian Mother, Navy wife, Great Grandmother, a sibling with a loving extended family in Harrisburg PA. Born Joyce Arlene Espenshade to Irene May Reynolds, and Harold Espenshade in Oberlin PA, on March 6th 1932 just after the Great depression. She was given to us by her creator for a brief, but rich 89 years, only to return to him in Spirit for now. She left this world peacefully, on Valentine’s Day 2022, with her loving family at her side. She received excellent care from the nurses and doctors including her daughter in law, Christine H. Lebo an RN at the same Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, Va.
A resident of multiple states including Hawaii, Midway Island, and CA. with three children in tow, throughout her military travels with her husband of 70 years, William C. Lebo Jr. They took up residence in Virginia Beach in 1969, and then permanently in Chesapeake VA. In the historical Victorian style home she always desired. She dated her Swarta PA. high school sweetheart the Quarterback of the football team and started a 70 year marriage shortly after graduation to William C. Lebo Jr. In her early years she rivetted military aircraft, managed a Minnie Pearl’s Restaurant, “Yee-Haw” managed a Farm Fresh Bakery, then a bookkeeper, all while caring for her family of two sons, , William C. Lebo III, Donald A Lebo, and daughter Linda (Lebo) Glenn.
Bladder cancer and three death defying accidents couldn’t stop her from always caring and loving her family, and friends. Regretfully she lost her battle with Sepsis, and kidney infections, but left us still saying “I love you guys so much”
She is survived by a her Children and Husband, sister Linda Malatestinic Glad, and her husband Marco Glad, another sister Jean and a host of more family members, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, too many to list but they all shared one thing with her. Her love and the fact that she would do anything to help you willingly. She will be overwhelmingly missed, but we do not grieve as others grieve, we know where our Mother, Wife, Sister, Great grandmother dwells now. Her body has returned to the earth, but her Spirit is with the Lord until Resurrection Day.
