
Katherine Susie Stultz Bostian, 81, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, September 30th, 2015. She was born on July 9, 1934, the daughter of the late Ezra L. Stultz and the late Marie Sword Stultz. In addition to her parents and husband Robert “Bob” Markley Bostian of over 50 years, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Paul “Gene “ and Maurice “Moe”.
She retired from Cave Spring High School in 1981 after many years as a teacher’s aide and cheerleading coach touching thousands of student’s lives while there. She helped form the Cave Spring Recreation Foundation along with her late husband and worked for the Roanoke County Parks and Recreation as a site supervisor coordinator of basketball scorekeepers and timers for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Michael “Mike” (Becky) and Allen (Sue) Bostian; her daughter, Tina Cook; her grandson, Matthew (Amy), two granddaughters, Lauren (Jeff) Wood and Sonora (Will) Posner; three great grandchildren, Olivia and Bradley Bostian and Joanna Wood; three sisters, Doris (Lewis) Young, Barbara “Bobbie” (Les Curd) Ryan, Dorothy “Dottie” (Donald) Hudgins; and a large extended family.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Monday, October 5th 2015 at 10 am at Cave Spring United Methodist Church, 4505 Hazel Dr., Roanoke, VA 24018 by the Rev. Denise Bates and the Rev. Joanna Paysour. A time of family visitation will follow the service.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Brookdale at Cave Spring and to Gentle Sheperd Hospice for their care of Mom. Brookdale always made mom feel so special and they took amazing care of her. And Gentle Shepherd Hospice made her transition so much easier to bear.
