
Lucien Andre’ Paul Morioni, 77, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Survived by his four children, Nora Jeane Morioni-Holm, and her husband Burton Holm, who reside in Gloucester, VA, Kenneth Morioni and his wife, Vicki Hudson Morioni, who reside in Kansas City, MO, Veronica Renee Morioni and fiance’ Kenneth Taggert who reside in Va Beach, VA and John Recine and girlfriend Victoria DeVore, who reside in Va Beach, VA. He is also survived by his two brothers, Jackie Tatum & wife Sharyn who reside in North Point, FL and David Tatum & wife Cindy, who reside in Ocean View, VA, and his brothers-in-law Eddie R. Bailey, Jr. of Norfolk, VA and Hassle Harris, Jr. & his wife Jacquelyn of Greenville, NC. He is also survived by his family members in Italy, his uncle Roberto Morioni & wife Anna and their children, Daniella and Massimo, his Aunt Fedora Morioni and her son Franco Morioni and their families. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He came to America in 1955 when he was 17 years old from Italy with a 3rd grade education and unable to speak English. His first job was setting up pins in a bowling alley. Soon after, he apprenticed with a baker at Henry Driver’s Bakery in Ocean View/Norfolk. He met his wife, Nettie, in 1959 and they married November 11, 1960. They raised a family of two sons and two daughters along with a neighborhood of children. In 1962 he became a U S citizen and began his career at Giant Open Air Market where later he became the Plant Manager of their Bakery Warehouse. He retired in 1991 where he continued to open his house to people in need. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nettie, and his mother, Marina Tatum, mother-in-law Nettie Harris, and a brother, Robert Tatum, and brother-in-law Eugene Bailey.

A celebration of life will held at 6:00 pm, Sunday July 26, 2015 at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations.

I will always hold dear memories in my heart of Paul Morioni, he was a wonderful man, the father of one of my best friends, growing up with him in my life enriched me so muuh. He taught me so much about family and unconditional love. He will live on in all of us he touched with his generous spirit. Love you Pop, I will miss you very much.
I Love you Dad! You didn’t have to be, but you chose to be, which is far more meaningful to me. You raised me from an infant. You loved me unconditionally, and taught me many lessons. I am greatful and feel very Blessed to have had you in my life. There are so many memories, and times that you showed me how much you loved me. Rest high on that mountain, look down upon us. We will miss you every day!
