
Luther B. Shawn, Jr., 87, passed away peacefully December 26, 2015. “Junior” as he was affectionately called by his family and friends was born October 31, 1928 to the late Luther and Iva Shawn, Sr. “Junior” served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy and then working in Civil Service as an Airplane Engine Mechanic until his retirement. After retirement, “Junior” loved playing golf, hunting, fishing and playing gin. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Calvin Shane Shawn; two grandsons, Michael Luther Shawn and Hunter Shawn; cousin, Diane Bates and a longtime family friend, Mike Waugh. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Jo Shawn.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

Luther, jr a great family man. I remember when you, Betty Jo, and Calvin used to come to see us in Lawrenceville and while Betty was visiting with my mother, my father, you, and sometimes Calvin would sneak off and get large chocolate milkshakes from the local drugstore in town. Shared alot of family memories and made new ones during those visits. My dad Samuel and my mother Eloise always enjoyed getting together with you and now you are all together again.
