
Matthew Curtis Hilton, 48, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Norfolk, VA. Born on October 10, 1966 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Ronald Hilton and his wife, Judith. Matt retired from the U.S Navy as an Chief Electrician’s Mate (Surface Warfare) and served forward deployed during Operation Desert Storm and on the ground at Camp Patriot during Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. He most recently worked as a Maintenance Electrician for Newport News Shipbuilding. When not working, Matt loved to fish off of the Ocean View pier, as well as bowling and dancing at the Fifth National Banque on Little Creek Road. He will be remembered for his love for his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by wife, Joan Ellen Van Duser Perdue-Hilton; a daughter, Jennifer Evener and her husband, Jeremy; a son, Donald Perdue and his wife, Holly, all of Norfolk, VA; sisters, Sheila Hilton-Woods of Gaithersburg, MD, Pamela Stone of Odenton, MD, Tami Carpel of Frederick, MD; his father, Ronald Hilton of Gaithersburg, MD; a brother, William Hilton of Burlington, NC; and grandchildren, Cheyenne, Alexis, Jeremy, Jr., and Christian. Matt is also survived by his birth mother, Helen Lynch of North Carolina. He was predeceased by his mother, Judith Hilton.
A celebration of life with full military honors will be held Monday, February 9, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations, 5401 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.

It was my pleasure and honor to have served with Matt, a fellow Chief and brother. I rejoice knowing he is with Jesus now and cancer free. I join you in sadness as well. Matthew, I was surfing the web and saw this. I knew you in the young years of the United States service in the Navy in Virginia. Bless you . Ella.
I knew Matt in the young hs years I was his ‘girlfriend’ for a week lol….we lived in the same neighborhood and I would follow him around on his Gazette paper route…I was searching for him and found that he had passed…So sorry to find this out.
