
Tobias E. “Mel” Trujillo, 91, passed away on January 18, 2011 in Virginia Beach. Born December 29, 1919 in Trujillo, CO, he was the son of the late Tobias and Cleotilde Trujillo and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. During his career in construction, Mr. Trujillo worked on the Eisenhower Tunnel and many other projects across Colorado. Prior to moving to Virginia, he was an usher and Parrish Council member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Pogosa Springs, CO, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a current member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Virginia Beach.
His hobbies included baseball, music, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Susan V. Trujillo; two daughters, Cynthia T. Marchant of Virginia Beach, and Gerilyn T. Diamond and her husband, Dr. Robert Diamond of Fair Oaks, CA; and six grandchildren, Denbeigh Marchant, Andrew Marchant, Lily Diamond, Charles Diamond, Julia Diamond, and Jane Diamond.
A Mass and inurnment will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 712 Little Neck Road Virginia Beach, VA 23452, on Friday, January 28 at 11 a.m.
