Paul Ellsworth Brooks, 61, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away suddenly on December 7, 2014. Born in Hopewell, VA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Rosalind Brooks.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Megan Vay Wilder, beloved grandson Baylor Wilder, brother Allen Brooks, uncle Alexander Brooks and wife Henna, and close friend Kelly Armstrong. He was also blessed with many distant family members and wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Beach Church, 503 15th St. VA Beach, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pin Ministries, 545 S. Birdneck Road, Virginia Beach, VA in memory of Paul.

    I am so very sorry for your loss. Paul was a very nice person and I am glad that you both had the opportunity to be there for each other. He sure loved his grandson. Peace be with you.

    Megan, Your dad was a good friend we had great times together playing ball with him and against him. He was a true Hopewell boy. Please let Allen know how sorry I am .

    Megan, Allen & Family,
    Jimmie and I were so saddened to hear of Paul’s passing. Even though we had not heard from him for many years, all of you were in our thoughts and we hoped you were doing well. After talking to Jill, it was such a blessing to hear that for the past six years Paul was doing really well and had a loving relationship with Megan and his new grandson. As always, we understand Paul and Allen remained there for each other, and for that we are grateful. Jimmie has a continuing problem with his neck and has an appointment with a spine specialist Friday morning. We had planned to come to the memorial service, but he is just unable to do so. Hearing about Paul has been very distressing to him, but knowing he had Megan and Allen in his life makes it easier to bear.
