
Peggy Joyce Robertson, 82, of Salem passed away peacefully Sunday, March 29, 2015 surrounded by her family. Peggy was born in Pembroke, Va. on Dec. 12, 1932 the daughter of John and Clora Martin. Peggy was an avid New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves fan, enjoyed watching North Carolina basketball and scheduled fall Sundays around Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. She was born with a love for music and taught herself to play several instruments. She especially enjoyed her Saturdays dining and shopping with her sister Sue and niece Jill Kormendy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Robert E. (Doby) Robertson Jr. and her seven sisters and brothers. She is survived by her daughters Sherry Robertson, Terri Smith (Greg Argabright), Susan Robertson (Craig Hennie), and son Scott Robertson (Sybil); grandchildren, Samantha Smith and Jake Robertson; sister Sue Golden; sisters-in-law Louise Martin and Mae Wilson; brothers-in-law James Robertson and Wayne Phelps; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful canines Coco and Dinky.
A private service will be held at Belvedere Gardens at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Salem at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1 from 5-7 p.m. at Family Choice Funerals and Cremations, 4922 Valley View Blvd. N., Roanoke.
